Graboplast's new products include self-disinfecting wallcoverings, hand- and surface disinfectants, a specially designed new temporary self-disinfecting flooring and, as a recurring product, Grabimed C/F mattress protector. In the last month, the company situated in Győr is pressing ahead at full steam and reallocated all its resources to the development of products used in the fight against COVID-19.
"Our new development is a recent member of the globally patented Grabo Silver Knight product family, the Silver Knight Wall, which is able to break down microorganisms, including viruses and bacteria, without chemicals, thanks to its special surface treatment." – said Zsuzsa Raffay product and marketing manager. The effectiveness of the new wall covering lies in the double defense line. The first is a natural antibiotic known for hundreds of years, the silver ion, while the second is a protective layer activated by light breaking microbes down into their components, thereby destroying those that come in contact with it. With the new wall covering product, we can not only ensure hygiene on the floor, but we can also exploit the self-disinfecting property in healthcare facilities on a much larger surface, which will help in the fight against pathogens even after the epidemic has passed.
The Silver Knight product line has also been expanded with a new floor covering, the Silver Knight Tempo. Tempo combines the self-disinfecting properties already known on the market with the possibility of cost-effective installation. This product is recommended by Graboplast for temporary hospital use or even long-term residential use.
The predecessor of the Grabimed C/F mattress protection coating has been manufactured by Graboplast since the 1980s, but product development has been focused on designing special floor coverings in recent decades. The production of the mattress protector has become topical again, as all useful tools are now essential for hospitals due to the coronavirus epidemic, and the waterproof mattress protection coating can also provide outstanding help in home patient care.
The biggest challenge for Graboplast is the production of hand and surface disinfectants, as these products do not fit into the company’s profile. However, the company’s long-standing flexibility and expertise are proven by the fact that it has been already manufacturing its own developed disinfectants for weeks. Retail and webshop sales of these products are being prepared these days.
