Unique historical property with applied passive house standards
In the Netherlands, Roto was actively involved in the renovation of a historical property from 1871. For 50 years, the property had stood empty before the decision was made to renovate the old family property and to convert it into a residential building.
Project
A big challenge was to integrate the old with the new. The historical foundation walls were to be maintained, the flair of the past centuries was to be perfectly combined with the passive house standard and, at the same time, to let as much daylight as possible into the new, spacious rooms.
Solution
Top energy efficiency and attractive design the Roto Designo R8 and R6 roof windows can do both. They even make a building full of light achieve the passive house standard. With that, these roof windows convinced owners, architects and experts: In 2015, the renovation project won the "Passief Bouwen Award 2015" in the category Renovation.
